Making Progress on the Book


 I'm at 29,000 words for my book!  Thanks to advice I've gotten from others, I will not try to fit 23 years of our Navy love story into one book, because I'm only at 2008 so far and I still have a lot more to write.  I'm hoping to have it done by August 4th and I don't want to feel rushed. So, I guess that means there will be volumes, ha! Looking back on my journal, old emails, and my blog takes a lot of time.  Connecting the dots between memories and timelines is also hard and I want to get it right.  It's overwhelming, and again I question who will even read this, but maybe when Dustin and I are in the nursing home with nothing to do, we can re-live our love story.  I'm thinking that the advice part of it will be helpful for kids graduating or going off to college.  I definitely want this to be an inspirational memoir to help others to live a fulfilling life!

Pier Luck is already a Success!

I've been overly posting on social media about my book release and we had an amazing book launch party and it has me really invigorated to do more! I set my goal pretty high because I want to sell 600 copies of Pier Luck. I haven't told anyone that goal except Dustin, so having it now in writing is a little scary!  It has been a whirlwind of emotions in the last few weeks and I am so thankful for all the support. So far about 70 people have purchased my book. At first I was thinking I just wanted to write this for Dustin and the rest of our family. I didn't really want to "put myself out there" but now I'm glad I did. I'm getting great feedback from readers so far and some people finished it on the first night of reading it!
