It has been raining a lot here in the mornings and evenings, but with rain, comes rainbows and they are all so beautiful here in Hawaii. So many times, I have thought, I should add to my blog, I should journal my thoughts, but then I get distracted with the thousand other things to be done. However, something happened today and I was not happy with my immediate reaction and anxiety that I had for a few hours. I got a call around 11 am from an 808 number which is rare on my 904 phone (usually spammers are calling from 904s), I answered it as I was driving to a patients house and the guy said he had a flower delivery for Angie Crawford for an address on Heeia Street but the address was wrong. I corrected him on the address and then he asked if someone would be home to accept delivery this afternoon and I said yes. When I hung up the phone, I got a pit in my stomach that I just gave out my address to a stranger. I called Dustin to see if he was for some reason sending me flowers and he said he would claim them, but no. So after my patient, I drove home to make sure things looked ok and locked the upstairs sliding glass door. I texted our neighbor Kraig to tell him a fishy sounding "delivery" was showing up later, to look out for anything else fishy. I called back the # and he sounded so nice, so I just asked if he could tell me who the flowers were from and he said no he wasn't allowed to open the envelope. At around 3, there was no sign of him, texted him at 330 and he showed up at about 350. A nice man with actual flowers and chocolates! I was so surprised it wasn't a hoax or a prank or something. As you can tell, I NEVER get flowers and that is not a complaint about Dustin, I told him a long time ago, I want experiences as gifts, not flowers that will die! Ha, well, now that I can actually take care of plants, this orchid is perfect! I hope I have enough patience and attention to keep it alive! a I asked if he could just leave them on the chest downstairs, so he did. He was so nice and the flowers are beautiful! I open up the card in suspense! Could it be from a thankful patient, a nice neighbor? Maybe the Tams that moved here recently or one of their family members? Turns out, it was from Elaine, Brittany's Mom. She had just been out visiting the Tams and wanted to thank us for all that we do. Well, that was a true surprise, one that gave me anxiety and I wish it hadn't. I wish that I had not gone down the negative route, usually I'm a positive person. I wish that I had expected better of people, not that it was a scam or a thief. It was weird because they had our address wrong, so that's what is so funny, that I now have to tell the Tams this story and correct them on our address! HA! Going forward, I will try to expect more good things from good people and concentrate on those.
