Keeping it short this week, mainly focused on my last full week of freedom before starting orientation at Bayada Home Health. I focused on buying plants and plant supplies since I've been wanting to make our deck look homey for over 2 months now. I got some good deals through Facebook and Oahu Military Buy Sell Trade. I've (we, sorry Goose, we) have been cooking a LOT more and I even sun dried some tomatoes and froze some lime/cucumber ice for drinks! Fun! We also were very interested in buying a used jet boat, a 2007 Seadoo but we got outbid, but we aren't very disappointed because now we are looking at possibly buying a new boat. We aren't sure yet, but we are taking the boaters safety course for Hawaii just in case! I still can't believe we live here! We are staying grateful during these times when unemployment is so high and negativity is everywhere! I definitely miss making new friends and having people over for a BBQ on Memorial Day weekend, but it is nice to not have tons of plans to work around sometimes. Dustin is pretty much back to work in the office but still returns home pretty early, thank goodness for shore duty! The stay at home order and 14 day quarantine if you travel or have visitors has been extended to June 30th, so that is pretty crazy. So many people depend upon tourism for their livelihood here, so there are a lot of people struggling and hungry and that is very bothersome. I donated to the Hawaii Food Bank again today. It's not like the people here can just drive somewhere that is less expensive. We are on a freaking island! We are very thankful for use of the commissary where groceries really aren't that much different than the prices in San Diego and gas was $2.25 a gallon on Pearl Harbor the other day!
