Despite the rainy weather we have had the last few days, I was able to run to the pier this morning in between the rain.  It was simply so beautiful, way different clouds than you normally see in San Diego area.  So far, I have 15 green checks on my Happiness Project and I'm feeling great!  At times, I feel selfish for working on my happiness more, but I find I help others and the environment more when I am happier. This morning, I just felt at peace.......so I just donated to American Cancer Society and I wrote a letter to Priscilla, the child we sponsor in Uganda. Dustin's Mom is going there tomorrow to visit and she's doing a great job with her non profit, very inspiring!!!

When I'm focused on goals, I am happier, that is for sure!  Dustin is being super, super supportive in my goals too, which helps!  We've been doing a 30 minute Yoga workout on Youtube once a week and I'm so happy that we were able to compromise (he does not like to go to the classes on base or anywhere!)

I still haven't had a drop of alcohol but I'm giving myself a break tomorrow for Dustin's crew masquerade ball.  This is definitely helping my energy and I'm sleeping even better as well!  NO TV week is going well so far too!  I usually watch the news in the morning while eating breakfast, but instead I'm sitting at the island just thinking about the day ahead of me.  At night, we've been doing puzzles, and we finished putting together our Favorites of 2018 pictures into Google photos last night.....my January project....problem is there are 1200 photos!!! It was a crazy year with Dustin returning from deployment, us moving to IB, me turning 40, us having so many friends and family visit, and then once Dustin was done with 3 section duty.... trips to Japan, Norcal, St. Louis, France, and Kansas City!  2018 was one for the books for sure!!! I'm doing a better job of reflecting on the past and slowing down a bit.... that also is suprisingly making me happier!  How my old friends in college would love to hear this.....they bought me a book, "the Art of Doing Nothing" way back then, 19 years ago.....well I finally am learning to do this and it feels good! I'm going to go try to find that book!
